Virtual trade events: an update

COVID-19 upended the trade event sector for 2020 (and possibly beyond), and many responded by moving their events online. We already posted about some of these but with new shows being announced, we thought it was time to update the list.

Here are some noteworthy virtual trade and industry events coming in 2020.

Velocity Global 2020 (August 4 & 5, 2020) – “My Private Brand responds to the global COVID-19 pandemic by transforming this year’s Velocity Conference into a groundbreaking virtual experience. The new format will expand the scope to the world and reinvent the experience with unmatched opportunities for networking and business development.”

The Virtual MedTech Conference (September 8 – October 23, 2020) – “The Virtual MedTech Conference will bring together the world’s top medtech executives and innovators to network, conduct business, gain access to capital and share insights in an engaging digital environment.” Events are on demand and live streamed throughout the fall.

Canada’s Digital Farm Show (September 15-18, 2020) – “Canada’s Digital Farm Show will, in true outdoor farm show fashion, deliver interactive content from the field, giving participants a unique vantage point to see equipment and agricultural technology in a way they have not been able to before.”

CHFA Connect (September 29 – October 1, 2020) – “CHFA Connect is a space where you can safely discover new products, learn from the best and find out how to future-proof your business. And best of all… it’s free!” 

SIAL Canada (September 29 – October 1, 2020) – “SIAL Canada celebrates the quality and diversity of the international food industry.” This year’s event will be a hybrid model, with a physical location in Montreal, Quebec and a virtual presence to accommodate U.S. and international visitors who cannot travel during the pandemic. Build Lasting Change 2020 (Five half-day events, September 22 – October 20, 2020) – “Building Lasting Change 2020 (BLC) offers five half-days of forward-thinking solutions, practical ideas, and education. Join us for real-time, online interactions with the leaders, change-makers, investors, and innovators of Canada’s burgeoning green building marketplace.”

Big Data Toronto 2020 (September 29-30, 2020) – “Join the Canadian data community on September 29-30, 2020 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre or online from the comfort of your home.”

SecTor 2020 (October 17-20, 2020) – “SecTor 2020 will be entirely online instead of in-person, from October 17-22, 2020. AME Toronto 2020 (October 27-29, 2020) – “Over the course of three days, AME Toronto 2020 will offer 40+ hours of content.
