We’re already preparing for 2025’s first major event!
Wisconsin’s 2025 Global Trade Mission: Canada will run from April 6 to 11, with stops in Vancouver, British Columbia and Calgary, Alberta to learn about – and make connections in – those Canadian markets. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is hosting a webinar on January 22 that will offer information about the program, and about exporting to Canada. Wisconsin businesses interested in the mission can click the link to secure their spot for the webinar.
According to the WEDC website:
“The U.S. and Canada enjoy the world’s largest and most comprehensive trading relationship, with more than $3 billion in goods and services crossing the border between the two countries daily. Canada is a highly receptive, open, and transparent market for U.S. products and services. In 2023, Wisconsin exports to Canada exceeded the total Wisconsin exports to Mexico, China, Germany, and the United Kingdom (the next four leading destinations) combined.“
These types of programs are very important; small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are significant contributors to any economy, and accessing new markets is a good way to keep them strong. We’re particularly lucky here in North America – the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA, or USMCA as it’s known in the U.S.) and its predecessor NAFTA were designed to help businesses by ensuring that goods and services could cross our borders with few impediments.
We’ll be posting more information about the upcoming mission on our LinkedIn and X feeds (as well as this blog), so stay tuned for updates.
