Why export?

It’s a busy time for us – the WEDC Virtual Trade Venture to Canada is just days away and we’re doing last-minute preparations. Last week we introduced the participating companies; contact us if you’d like to learn more about them and their goals for the venture.

Events like these are very important; they help small to medium-sized companies learn about – and make connections in – new markets. SMEs are significant contributors to any economy, and accessing new markets is a good way to keep them strong.

We’re particularly lucky here in North America – the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA, or USMCA as it’s known in the U.S.) and its predecessor NAFTA were designed to help businesses by ensuring that goods and services could cross our borders with few impediments. The Agreement is a great roadmap to economic prosperity for the three member countries – and their SMEs.

The International Trade Administration’s website has a very comprehensive list of reasons to export. Read them through, and keep watching our blog – we’ll be posting more export development resources in the coming weeks.
