Big news from the Grow Trade team:
We’re pleased to be working with AHP International to represent Germany’s Economic Development Agency Brandenburg (WFBB) on a trade mission to Vancouver and Calgary from August 31 to September 4!
The Berlin-Brandenburg region has some strong parallels to British Columbia and Alberta, including a strong resource and traditional industries background as well as a focus on innovation and transformation. It is the home to the Tesla Gigafactory, and the state is rapidly transitioning from traditional coal mining in the Lusatia region into a massive hub for hydrogen production, wind energy, and circular economy technologies. It’s also a hub for life sciences, medtech, advanced materials, optics, and photonics.
German companies participating in this mission come from the clean energy, circular materials, advanced manufacturing, and 3D visualization sectors. As part of this visit, we’re coordinating one-on-one meetings with potential business collaborators, customers, and industry stakeholders in both cities.

Kubik Innovation is “your experts for energy optimization.” They’ve been in the market for three years, helping companies and private customers reduce energy consumption and cut costs. Their professionals combine technical expertise with practical solutions to develop customized strategies, offering both economic and environmental benefits.
Kubik Industries is an engineering and consulting company specializing in the wind energy sector. The company provides technical expertise across the wind turbine lifecycle, including project development support, operations and maintenance, life extension, decommissioning, and sustainable end-of-life solutions. Kubik Industries is also advancing innovative approaches to recycle and repurpose wind turbine blades into value-added products, including fireproof structures to help mitigate wildland fires. Kubik Industries works to support the transition to a circular economy within the renewable energy sector.
The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottus-Senftenberg (BTU) Chair of Architecture and Visualisation (held by Prof. Dominik Lengyel since 2006) develops the “visual communication of complex spatial content, calibrated to the psychology of human perception through abstract modelling and virtual photography.” In short, their technology communicates your visualization needs via 3D imagery and photo-assisted modelling. The technology has applications in various fields (it is well suited to technical object design for energy and public spaces); it has been shown in museums across Europe, and at York University (via Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council).
G.W.P. AG is a specialized manufacturer of mechanical components, assemblies, and housings with over 20 years of experience in die casting and injection molding. They focus on small- to medium-production runs and offer customized manufacturing solutions from engineering and prototyping through serial production to final surface finishing. Core competencies include aluminum and zinc die casting, plastic injection molding, CNC machining, and comprehensive assembly services. They serve the automotive, industrial equipment, electronics, robotics, and medical technology sectors, as well as any industry that needs automation. Their production network spans Germany, Europe, and Asia, with a Canadian expansion pending.
