Doing business with the government.

The Government of Canada has a specific website for those interested in doing business with the broader Canadian public sector. It’s called CanadaBuys, and it’s where prospective business partners can find tender opportunities and learn more about the procurement process.

On the CanadaBuys site, you can:

The getting started page has more information about preparing to sell to the government, including details about SAP Business Network registration and how to determine if you’ll need a procurement business number (PBN) and/or Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) business number. Additional help can be found on a support page that includes contact information and a list of resources for registrants.

Assistance is also available via the Procurement Assistance Canada website and includes topics such as how to bid on and search for opportunities, and a list of events where participants can learn more about selling products and services to the Government of Canada.
